We wanted to share a preview of what Mary has been working on — incorporating printing with rust and dyeing with indigo, a new process she’s been exploring. The first image shows an early phase of that process in the studio. Mary’s work is headed to Minneapolis. She’s on Mary’s work is headed to Minneapolis. She’s one of five artists showing in FOUNDATIONS: Materials and Methods, a group exhibition at @emaluna . Mary will be showing her new felted textile work - rooted in texture, memory, and felt’s ability to express the magic of a moment that words often cannot convey. Here’s the recipe if you want to try it Old Fashioned Milk Paint. 4-parts black, 3-parts federal blue & 2-parts slate. Finish is organic linseed oil, beeswax and pure turpentine.
